Uttarakhand Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Rules, 2011


Eligibility

The Uttarakhand government has issued a notification which specifies:

Weaker Section

    • Parents' annual income is `55,000 per year or less

Disadvantaged Group

    • Scheduled Castes (S.C.)

    • Scheduled Tribes (S.T.)

    • Other Backward Castes (O.B.C.) declared by the State Government (apart from creamy layers)

    • Orphan Children

    • Physically disabled children who fall under the purview of PwD Act 1995 (1 of 1996)

    • Children dependent on widows or divorced mothers whose annual income is less than `80,000

    • HIV+ children or those whose parents are HIV+

    • Children belonging to parents with disabilities (including leprosy affected persons) defined in PwD Act 1995 (1 of 1996) whose annual income is less than`4.5 lakh

Within these two categories in co-educational schools fifty percent of these seats will be reserved for girls
