Eligibility
The Uttar Pradesh government has issued a notification which specifies:
Disadvantaged Groups
Scheduled Castes (S.C.)
Scheduled Tribes (S.T.)
Socially and educationally backward sections
Disabled
Parents affected by HIV or Cancer
Shelter-less/Homeless
Orphans
Weaker Section
Below the Poverty Line (B.P.L.), or are included in the list by the Rural Development Ministry
Recipients of disability/old age/widow pension
Annual income does not exceed `1 lakh
For the purpose of admission in schools, the children of parents/guardians whose income is not more than `35,000 per year shall have the first priority. Thereafter if seats of admission are still vacant then the children shall be admitted according to the list prepared in the ascending order of annual income of the parents/guardians having annual income more than `35,000
The government has also recently issued another notification to specify reimbursement
Paperwork
Each form must be accompanied by any one of the following documents as proof in each category, as applicable:
I. Residential Address (in the school neighbourhood)
Voter ID Card
Ration Card
Land Certificate
Job Card (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act)
Passport/ Driving License/Electricity Bill/Water Bill
Any other government issued document which has the parents/guardians residential address proof
II. Disadvantaged Groups: Child who is
Disabled
Scheduled Caste (S.C.)
Scheduled Tribe (S.T.)
Other Backward Caste (O.B.C.)
HIV or Cancer affected parents/guardians
Shelter-less/Homeless child
III. Weaker Section: Child whose parents/guardians have
Below the Poverty Line (B.P.L.) card or notification of inclusion in the list prepared by the Rural Development Ministry
Disability/old age/widow pension receipt
Annual income does not exceed `1 lakh
IV. Available Documents: atleast one
Caste Certificate
Disability Certificate
Cancer or H.I.V. Medical Reports
Shelter-less/Homeless Affidavit by Tehsildar
B.P.L. Card
